I attended an event last Wednesday evening that I just had to share with everyone. Last summer I joined eWomen Network and it has proven to be a wise decision and a very good investment. The group meets once a month and there is always a guest speaker on a wide range of topics. I have never been disappointed with a speaker or the topic.

Last Wednesday, the founder of eWomen, Sandra Yancey, spoke at our networking dinner. I was so very impressed with her speech; not only the content; but, Sandra’s delivery of the content. I’m not going to go into detail on her message; except to say that it had to do with the underlying message of the children’s book “The Little Train That Could”. Sandra’s speech and topic were moving to say the least.

Well, what’s the point of this post if not to discuss her speech? I want to encourage all of you to look into this great organization, go to one of the networking lunches or dinners. I have met the most wonderful and helpful women and made connections that are propelling me and my business in such tremendous directions it gives me goose bumps! I agree with the eWomen message of giving first and sharing always and that there is enough business for all of us. So, let’s make sure to support each other. As Kymberlee Simantel, the Reno eWomen managing director, points out: “We are not going to connect with 100% of the people (clients) we meet.”

I know there are numerous networking groups to choose from and it can be overwhelming (not to mention expensive) to keep up with all of them. My suggestion is just to make sure you are a member of at least one that is for women because we do think differently and conduct business differently.
